The Coquitlam school houses grades 6 through 12, and the administrative offices of the Mediated Learning Academy and the Variety Learning Education charity.

The main building of the Mediated Learning Academy, the one-time Burquitlam School, is a purpose-built school building in a quiet residential neighbourhood, surrounded by playing fields, and backing up to the Gorge nature preserve. Many MLA art classes have used the Gorge as the subject of their works.
